Our Fees
Fees and billing information
Inner West Women’s Health strives to deliver patient-centred, specialised sexual and reproductive medical care of the highest quality at a reasonable cost. We are a private-billing practice.
Medicare rebates are available for eligible consultations and a GP referral is not required.
Certain consults and procedures attract additional fees and rebates. The final fee will depend on the duration and complexity of your presentation. The fees outlined below are a general guide.
Standard appointment - 20-30 minutes
$89.90 out-of-pocket cost (Full fee $170; Medicare rebate $80.10)
This is for most consultation issues, including:
Contraception, IUD and Implanon discussion
Fertility and pre-conception
Sexual-health testing
Cervical-screening testing
Ongoing menopause care
Routine antenatal visits (if you have any concerns or just would appreciate more time, please book a ‘Long’ appointment)
Long appointment - 40+ minutes
$122 out-of-pocket cost (Full fee $240; Medicare rebate $118)
We book a long appointment for all first visits for menopause/perimenopause discussion and endometriosis/pelvic pain assessment appointments. This is so we can cover your full medical history, understand your concerns and health goals and explain the available management options, and arrange any medical tests. A ‘long appointment’ is also appropriate if you have a number of issues you would like to discuss, or are especially concerned about your health.
Complex appointment - 60+ minutes
$129 out-of-pocket cost (Full fee $320; Medicare rebate $191)
Sometimes people have more complex issues and these take time to understand and put together a management plan which meets your needs.

Other fees and cancellations
Extra fees may apply to some services such as medical procedures, dressings, and any longer-term health plans. Your doctor will discuss any extra costs, including potential costs for any medications prescribed.
In order to manage patient care and workflow, we require a minimum 24-hour notice period to cancel or change your appointment. Late cancellation fees apply.
Payment of fees and claiming rebates
Full fees are payable at reception by card or cash immediately after your consultation. If you have a Medicare card, staff will submit your claim immediately online, and the rebate will be paid directly to you. We cannot bulk-bill concession card holders.
It is our principle that patient healthcare should not be disadvantaged because of financial difficulty. Please discuss alternative arrangements with your practitioner if you are in this situation.
